Energie Wasser Bern (EWB) is an independent state owned company of the City of Bern and one of the five largest urban energy suppliers in Switzerland. In an effort to consolidate offices and various functions, EWB is planning a new 25,000m² company headquarter. The completed building is intended to break new ground in terms of sustainability, cost effectiveness and process optimisation. The client wishes to develop a high-rise building which is perceived as a lighthouse project in sustainable technology-driven management.
As a partner with plenty of experience in complex construction projects, we are advising the state owned energy provider throughout the project brief and feasibility phase with well-founded technological and specialist expertise. This includes defining the user requirements, defining budget and timeline and consulting on technical aspects such as sustainability, structural timber solutions and work place strategies.
Creating a new building for all EWB employees is driven by financial, operational and marketing aspects and as a reaction to a changing energy market. We are supporting the desire to reinvent the brand by creating a state-of-the-art, highly-efficient high-rise building which will stand out as a landmark for the company and the city of Bern.
