Conversion of an existing building into a modern office space

Okrąglak building project consists of the refurbishment and conversion of a 7,600m2 existing department store into a modern office space. Located at the city centre, this cylindrical construction was erected in the 1950s and is currently considered as a new landmark of Poznań and a pride for the city.

For the refurbishment of the existing department store and the connected office building, we carried out full engineering design, including  structuralmechanicalelectrical, public health services, geotechnics and BREEAM certificate assessment service.

We also assisted on the multidisciplinary building permit and tender design stage of refurbishment. The design included external services and liaising with the municipal authorities and utilities providers.

The key design intention was to provide technical solutions of redevelopment for both mixed office and commercial activities always taking into account the strong requirements of Heritage authorities.

In 2012 the project won the Best Modernisation of 2012 at the CEE CIJ Awards Gala.
