Arup’s growing reputation in transport consulting in Russia has led to a series of commissions both for Federal and City authorities as well as private developers.
For this project, we have been appointed by OAO BTK Development in St Petersburg to carry out a transport study for the planned commercial development “U Krasnogo mosta”.
Our experts studied the existing transport situation in the area including the adjacent street and road network, public transport routes, planned transport changes in the area. On the basis of the collected data, we implemented preliminary forecasts on future traffic demand, with particular attention to parking demand and capacity of the proposed automated system.
We carried out detailed capacity analysis to estimate the ability of the proposed access and car parking layout to cater for anticipated traffic and pedestrian flows. Our team also examined the internal circulation of pedestrian flows within the building itself to verify the capacity of vertical transportation facilities for both people and goods.
The key services provided included transport planning, traffic review and capacity assessment, automated car parking demand and capacity, static pedestrian capacity assessment, traffic demand calculation, car parking layout and review, and vehicle swept path analysis.
