Wangjing SOHO, Beijing

A new landmark for the city of Beijing

The Wangjing area located in Northeast Beijing has become a hot spot in the city due to the rapid real estate developments over the past few years. One such development is SOHO Peaks. Developed by SOHO China, the development will become a new landmark for both the Wangjing area and Beijing.

Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, the project will form part of the gateway for travellers coming to downtown Beijing from Beijing Capital International Airport. SOHO China is looking beyond a mere commercial investment — they want to add a brilliantly designed and carefully balanced city life experience to their portfolio.

Project Summary

521,265m2 Total construction floor area

200mtall tower

Arup was appointed to be the MEP consultant for the project. Our scope of work includes: scheme design, preliminary design review, construction design review, shop drawing review, MEP tender specification preparation and working design review, and construction support.

The development offers office and retail space, car parking and MEP plant rooms. The total construction floor area is 521,265m².

The development comprises three buildings – two 100m tall and one 200m tall. Also known as ‘dimensions’, they allow visitors to enter the architectural space from any point in the development. The spaces and buildings are ‘ever-changing’ – people in the development will be in constant contact with the public area. The connection with outdoor space encourages people to live and breathe the fabric of this development – a comfortable and relaxing environment.

SOHO China is also aiming to deliver exemplary sustainability integrated throughout the fabric of the project, thus the design and construction of the development will be in accordance with and assessed against LEED®.
