Conversion of a historic building for the Inditex group

The Zara Via del Corso project involved the conversion of an historic building located on one of the most central streets of Rome into a store for the Inditex group. The design proposal sought to turn this store into a major flagship of the company worldwide.

From the organization of the design competition to the collaborative work with Zara Studio, the scope of services provided by Arup included the coordination of the activities of the commissioning team ensuring the validity of the implementation of the commissioning process, a necessary prerequisite to obtain a sustainability certification LEEDTM (Commercial Interiors).

This project has achieved a detailed series of sustainability objectives, notably in energy savings and the environment (water saving, grey water and rainwater recovery system, green cooling) and by incorporating these into the architectural vision of the building, Arup has shown that regeneration can be achieved in a sustainable way.

Arup carried out the integrated sustainable design strategy and the coordination and execution of the LEEDTM process, as well as the consultancy on equipment and installations.
