Arup has launched its first Future Cities Hub in Singapore, bringing together planning, advisory and design consultants to address critical infrastructure needs across Southeast Asia.
Supported by Singapore’s Economic Development Board (EDB), a diverse mix of local and international professionals will be developed to drive innovation and growth across Southeast Asian cities. Based in Singapore, the Future Cities Hub is expected to grow to more than 60 staff by 2023.
Tan Yoong Heng, Arup’s Singapore Office Leader, said the Hub will work with public agencies and private sector entities on projects and research across urban development, transport, social and infrastructure in the region.
“Cities will need to address urbanisation challenges and plan for sustainable and resource-efficient infrastructure,” he said.
