Arup has been named ‘Technical Consultant of The Year’ in the IJGlobal Investor Awards – scooping the accolade for both the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) and Americas regions.

The award celebrates excellence and innovation in infrastructure project finance, recognising best-in-class transactions to have closed over the past year.

Judges commended Arup for its “very high level of service” as well as for innovative ESG initiatives – with the award following success earlier this year when Arup was named as Europe’s ‘Technical Advisor of the Year’ by IJGlobal.

As a Technical Advisor to debt and equity investors, Arup’s deal team includes experienced engineers, finance specialists and economists – providing a holistic view on any transaction and ensuring a fair allocation of risk in the structuring of projects.

Transactions were spread across a variety of sectors, including work in transport, renewable energy, digital networks, social infrastructure and the energy transition.  ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) work was particularly prominent as Arup continues to increase its focus on sustainable development.

Key deals leading to the award win included providing technical and commercial advice to support an ambitious rail electrification initiative creating sustainable transport links throughout Tanzania, iCON Infrastructure’s acquisition of a 40% stake in the Iowa Interstate Railroad (IAIS) and the sale of sustainable energy firm MVV Energie to First State Investment.

For Arup to be recognized by our peers for our global reach, breadth of capability, commitment to sustainable outcomes and quest for excellence is truly inspiring. We will continue to passionately advocate for how the community of professionals we are privileged to be part of can shape a better world through innovation. ” Filippo Gaddo Filippo Gaddo Former Director

As the impact of climate change puts pressure on infrastructure to address socio-economic issues in a sustainable manner, it is humbling to be recognized by the industry and our peers who are on the frontline of this transformation. ” Craig Forrest Craig Forrest Canada Group Leader
