Arup picks up four project awards, including the first ever accolade for Consulting Excellence, and two highly commended individuals.

Celebrating their 20th year anniversary, the Management Consultancies Association (MCA) awards in London were attended by the best of the UK’s consulting industry.

Arup was awarded:

  • The inaugural Consulting Excellence – Ethical Behaviour Award in recognition of Arup’s distinct culture and commitment to integrating ethical considerations into all aspects of projects, design and business decisions.

  • The Finance and Risk Management Award, presented for Arup’s development of a resilience framework with Welsh Water. This is one of the first projects to incorporate city, business and asset resilience in all aspects of a water business and represents a new mind-set for tackling both risk management and capital investment.

  • The People Award for Arup’s Emerging Leaders Programme with the NHS East Midlands Leadership Academy (EMLA). This programme enables NHS emerging leaders to develop skills for transformative change which has resulted in generating team savings of over 50 per cent on agency staff costs.

  • The Performance Improvement in the Public Sector Award for the London Overground Capacity Improvement Programme (LOCIP) with Transport for London. Arup’s risk and safety analyses enabled the London Overground network to increase capacity for passengers by 25 per cent.

Arup employees highly commended:

  • Maria Kordoni in the Digital Consultant of the Year category for her work with Heathrow to migrate all their baggage systems ready for the third runway.

  • Josef Hargrave in the Strategy Consultant of the Year category for delivering the strategy for the management of future trends and implementation of strategic initiatives that will enable his client, a leading urban mass transit operator in East Asia, to actively manage future risks and opportunities.

It is fantastic to have received so many of these awards. These recognise the varied and extensive expertise we are able to offer our clients. Under one roof Arup has everyone from consultants, economists and financial analysts, to engineers and designers working together on projects. Our strength is being able to integrate all of this knowledge to focus on helping our clients realise their greatest opportunities and overcome their greatest challenges. ” Jerome Frost Jerome Frost Director
