Arup is proud to announce it has become the delivery partner for the UK’s Foreign Commonwealth Office (FCO) programme in Turkey, working on six key city-shaping projects across Turkey under the Global Future Cities Prosperity Fund Programme.
Over the next two years, Arup will deliver these six vital projects spread across three major Turkish cities: Istanbul, Ankara and Bursa. Through targeted interventions focused on transport as well as urban planning and resilience, the Global Future Cities Prosperity Fund supports the sustainable development of safer, more resilient urban environments that can create more inclusive economic growth, reduce poverty and gender inequality; while increasing mobility.
After successfully completing the inception phase, launched in September 2019, Arup has now commenced the implementation phase of the programme. Based in Istanbul, Arup’s Cem Budak is working closely with the FCO and all the relevant local government and authorities, working as the Programme Director for all the six initiatives.
