Arup scores a triple win at the RICS Awards China 2022

Arup bagged three Excellence awards at the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards China 2022, which showcases the most inspirational initiatives and developments in land, real estate, construction and infrastructure.

The recognition is a strong testament to our commitment to the China market and the highest standards of quality and professionalism in shaping a better built environment.

Professional Consultancy Service Team of the Year – Construction
Science, Industry and Technology (SIT) research team 

Arup’s SIT research team provides services in advanced manufacturing, data centres, technology and scientific research facilities. Our mainland China team has so far worked with renowned international and local clients such as ExxonMobil, Innovent Biologics Pharmaceuticals and Pearl Red Winery to develop sustainable and resilient assets and operations.

Most recently, the team helped develop a design brief for an artificial intelligence supercomputer laboratory, a world first. Harnessing our strengths in multidisciplinary expertise, we demonstrated innovative capabilities, efficient organisation and technical excellence to exceed the client’s expectations.

Professional Consultancy Service Team of the Year – Construction
Nansha Pearl Bay Phase II (Hengli Island) Infrastructural Planning Consultancy team

Arup received this award together with China State Construction Engineering Corporation Southwest Consulting Company Limited.

We acted as the project consultant for Hengli Island, the start-up area in the Pearl Bay of Guangzhou’s Nansha district, providing infrastructure planning and design and consulting services for landscape, bridges and underground space development. With our multidisciplinary expertise and total design concept, we maximised the project’s social and ecological values to set an example for future city development.

Foresight team

As part of the Arup University, the Foresight team operates both as a think-tank and a consultant to companies across sectors. In mainland China, the team is dedicated to helping the firm and our clients understand trends, deliver new values and shape a more sustainable future. 

From Hybrid Retail Asia to Future of Stations, we research into the future and rethink the design and operations of the built environment. We also organise workshops and events to share future perspectives and encourage meaningful dialogue for sustainable change.
