Greg Rogencamp, an industry expert in infrastructure flood risk management, has joined Arup as Surface Water Engineering Leader.

He brings more than 30 years’ experience in flood assessments for infrastructure projects and strategic flood risk management.

Greg brings significant experience to Arup in flood risk management. His skills strengthen our ability to understand flood risks and identify solutions for clients that consider resilience and adaptation opportunities. ” Daniel Lambert Daniel Lambert Former Australasia Water Leader

As a recognised leader in this speciality area, Greg has worked on the flooding aspects of a variety of linear infrastructure projects such as highway, motorway, rail and tunnel flood immunity, at stages from route selection and concept design through to detailed design. He was the flooding lead on the Woolgoolga to Ballina Pacific Highway Upgrade EIS.

His flood risk work has also included development of flood management strategies for large organisations including Brisbane City Council, Queensland Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning, and the London Olympic Authority. He was also the lead for the Lockyer Creek flood studies following the devastating floods of January 2011.

The growth of urban infrastructure and the community’s high expectations for flood management provide opportunities to add real value to these projects. There is also a continuing shift in managing flood risks from mitigation to resilience and adaption. ”
