Arup has been invited to support RenewableUK, the renewable energy trade association, in chairing its new floating offshore wind member forum. With clear targets outlined by the UK government to decarbonise and achieve net zero emissions, this industry group will work with developers and the wider supply chain to unlock the potential market for this low carbon technology. Member forums are open exclusively to RenewableUK members who are experts in their field to inform policy, industrial strategy and develop effective UK markets

The pace of technological innovation that has propelled the offshore wind sector so rapidly over the last decade has been staggering. Floating represents the next big challenge that will unlock even greater potential for this low carbon technology and we should be no less ambitious in our expectations for the future. We are delighted to be involved. ” Henrietta Ridgeon, UKIMEA Offshore Wind Leader, Arup

The world-leading UK offshore wind sector continues to grow from strength to strength. The approach developed by the UK taskforce could help promote floating technology for other locations across the world.
