Arup has been appointed to provide structural, MEP and fire system design services for a new administrative-political centre in Vietnam’s northern port city Hai Phong.

The project is of strategic importance to Hai Phong as the city moves towards infrastructure development and administrative reform to benefit people and businesses.

Covering an area of 324ha, the centre will include 14 administrative buildings, a convention-performance centre with 1,500 seats and comprehensive infrastructure development.

Conceived by gmp International GmbH, the design was selected from an international competition and focuses on green architecture and sustainable development.

Arup has a strong track record in delivering sustainable landmarks in Vietnam and around the world. We are honoured to be part of this strategic project, drawing upon our global expertise to provide a high-quality urban showcase for Vietnam. ” Neil Harvey Neil Harvey Director and Ho Chi Minh City office leader

Construction is expected to start later this year and completion is targeted for 2025. Upon completion, the centre will serve as a hub for major city events and support the government’s effort in promoting public investment capital for socio-economic development through infrastructure projects.
