Arup has unveiled a new ImmersionLab in Madrid, a state-of-the-art immersive audio and visual experience that harnesses the latest digital technology to deliver real-life simulations of real or projected spaces.

Integrating virtual reality with the latest auralisation technology, the next-generation ImmersionLab enables design teams, clients and stakeholders to experience first-hand the soundscapes and visual surrounds of the natural and built environment, even before they are physically created.

This new tool significantly changes the collaborative design process, creating a highly engaging experience of the built environment that will enable clients and partners – as well as the local community - to experience different design possibilities at an inception stage, leading to more informed decision-making.

Arup’s ImmersionLab will reformulate the future of the built environment, enabling us to create spaces that can shape and enhance the user experience. ” Susana Saiz Susana Saiz Director

An immersive space

This immersive space makes it possible to simulate everything from the interior of a world-class concert halls or a connecting train stations, all the way to urban planning and new building designs, as well as the demonstration of the environmental impact associated with a new transport route.

As a powerful immersive tool, it can bring together designers, architects and engineers to create the best solutions adapted to each design, optimising the way we plan and design complex projects in any context, including large-scale infrastructure projects.
