Arup has won the Grand Award at the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP) Awards for Excellence 2020.
Our winning project is ‘Development of a Common Spatial Data Infrastructure – Built Environment Application Platform – Feasibility Study’ (CSDI-BEAP Study) collaborated with the Planning Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government. The project was also awarded the IDC Smart City Asia Pacific Awards in June.
Tapping spatial data from a CSDI, the project presents ten spatially and digitally enabled built environment applications and services that allow users to search for, interact with, download built environment applications and discover relevant resources via a web portal. The platform provides a vital tool to facilitate city stakeholders – to use a digital twin approach to make decision-making on city planning, foster interdepartmental co-operation and synergy for policy making, resource management, as well as delivery of high-quality services to the public, overall improving efficiency and transparency and supporting smart city development in Hong Kong.
