ueber.morgen: innovations in timber construction

Timber construction is presently experiencing a true renaissance. We would like to invite you to another event of our ueber.morgen lecture series, a breakfast with Arup! We will present latest innovations in timber construction.

Carsten Hein Associate Director and head of Arup’s timber competence team will present innovations in timber construction and explain the specific requirements in terms of fire protection, stiffness and sustainability. On the basis of current project examples, such as the timber hybrid commercial building H7 in Münster and the timber high-rise building ‘Haut’ in Amsterdam, he will show the potentials of timber construction systems and illustrate in which projects the use of timber can make sense.

André Haßmann – Project manager at Berlinovo Grundstücksentwicklungsgesellschaft – was responsible for the implementation of the first student residence in Germany to be built in modular timber hybrid construction. Using the example of these micro apartments and other Berlinovo projects in the planning process, he will show that timber constructions can be both, efficient and economical.
