Graduates vote for Arup as one of the best employers

The results indicate Arup is more popular than ever, rising into the Top 20 of all employers nationally.

The surveys showed Arup is a destination of choice for final year university students seeking graduate opportunities, and highly rated by those already working with the firm in graduate roles.

Each year, Arup Australasia offers opportunities to around 150 graduates in disciplines including engineering, design and consulting.

“Arup supports graduates professionally and personally so that they have really positive experiences and career opportunities while developing their technical and soft skills and building networks,” said Peter Chamley, Arup’s Australasia Region Chair.

“We respect them as high calibre, high performing people embarking on promising careers.”

Our programme supports graduates with experienced mentors, structured learning and interesting projects - we try to make their life at Arup rewarding in as many ways as possible. ”

In the AFR GradConnection Top 100, Arup is in the Top 20 of graduate employers and a preferred employer in the Engineering and Resources category.

“Students who are commencing graduate programs in 2020 have voted for Arup as one of the very best places to start their career,” explained Alex Knight, Arup’s Early Careers Lead.

The Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE) anonymously surveyed more than 3,200 graduates, asking them to reflect on their experiences after a year of employment.

They voted Arup 14th overall (ahead of 61 other employers), up from 31st last year. They considered criteria including induction and development programmes, training, quality of work, compensation and benefits, career progression, supervisor or manager, company culture and work-life balance.

This recognition is significant for us. It highlights that we are not only seen as an employer of choice amongst students, but also delivering a quality experience for our graduates. ”
