Arup’s Dr Tim Williams has been appointed to the NSW Architects Registration Board by the Minister for Better Regulation and Innovation, Kevin Anderson.

Cities Leader for Arup Australasia, Tim has a passion for great places and cities - sustainable urban developments which prioritise people.

“Joined-up thinking leads to better outcomes, so I am delighted to join a Board with expertise across architecture, the built environment, planning, law, local government and the community,” Tim said.

“Architects can have great influence in shaping how we live, work, play and see ourselves: I look forward to being part of the conversation about future thinking.”

The NSW Architects Registration Board is the statutory authority that accredits courses in architecture, and registers and regulates architects: it also promotes discussion of architectural issues in the community. There are more than 5,500 registered architects in NSW.

Tim is the chair of Open Cities which promotes innovation in Australia in next-generation infrastructure and is on the Board of NSW Circular, aimed at promoting the circular economy.

His two-year appointment begins in November.
