Arup has been presented with one of the first UK Board of Trade Awards by the Rt Hon Liam Fox MP, Secretary of State for International Trade and President of the Board of Trade.

The award recognises excellence in trade and investment across the whole of the UK; and celebrates businesses that show exceptional innovation, encourages prosperity in their local communities, and champion free trade.

Arup received the award in acknowledgement of its work to promote British exports, particularly through its partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT) North West of England team. As a result, the firm has expanded its business in Asian markets and signed two deals with Chinese partners to exploit project opportunities along the Belt and Road Initiative during the UK Prime Minister’s recent trade mission to China.

Promoting and delivering trade and investment across the whole of the UK is at the heart of our entrepreneurial tradition as a major player in global markets. Working alongside industry and the DIT to secure overseas investment has helped create new jobs, development and regeneration opportunities. It continues to be of vital importance to our business, and to the UK, that we work together in partnership to strengthen global trade networks. ”
