Arup has been named the top technical advisor for project finance by IJGlobal. The global ranking recognises outstanding transactions and institutions from the realm of infrastructure and finance.

Arup provided transaction advice on investments worth over $19bn in 2017 alone. One of the first built environment firms to hire infrastructure finance professionals almost 40 years ago, Arup uses its deep industry knowledge and multidisciplinary teams to help owners, operators, lenders, sponsors and government bodies take advantage of investment opportunities and develop better business strategies.

Major transactions in 2017 have included:

  • Working with National Grid to sell their gas distribution business worth £13.8bn.

  • Leading the acquisition of a 6.94% share of Autostrade, the largest Italian toll road network.

  • Advising a consortium that acquired one of Australia’s biggest public energy companies, Endeavour Energy, in a deal that will deliver a A$7.6bn windfall to the New South Wales Government.

This ranking recognises the work we’ve been doing over the last 20 years to help client’s technical and commercial understanding and to take advantage of opportunities, which have delivered vital infrastructure for people and industry. As one of the first firms to bring engineering, design and investor advisory services together, we’ve been able to help clients around the world unlock value and create efficiencies. We are an independent and creative organisation, meaning our investment in research has allowed us to pioneer the private financing of major infrastructure projects and better understand equitable benefits and emerging markets. ” Craig Forrest Craig Forrest Canada Group Leader
