This week Arup launched our new strategic partnership in Europe with the non-profit organisation Engineers without Borders (EWB).
Operating on a Europe region level, the partnership connects Arup in Ireland, Italy and the Netherlands to the three local branches of EWB. It is hoped to extend the partnership to other European countries next year.
EWB supports disadvantaged communities to improve their quality of life through education and implementation of sustainable engineering projects. These projects also provide opportunities for Arup engineers and other technical and non-technical staff to take part in interesting work which has a positive humanitarian impact on disadvantaged communities locally and across the globe.

Every year, Arup staff volunteer their professional skills and thousands of hours to help shape a better world through community engagement. Last year, we undertook 155 major projects across the globe that helped to make disadvantaged and vulnerable communities safer, healthier and better educated. The strategic partnership with EWB will form part of Arup’s overall Community Engagement programme, and will last at least three years.
