London’s Royal Opera House has opened its doors following a major transformation by architect Stanton Williams and Arup together with a team of over 30 contractors to enhance the opera house’s experience for the public, staff and performers alike.
The result is the conclusion of the ‘Open Up’ project, which aimed to transform the Royal Opera House into a welcoming, multifaceted and inclusive cultural and social hub during the day.
Arup provided multidisciplinary design services for ‘Open Up’, including acoustics design, building services, AV ICT Security and Sustainability consulting advice. Through an integrated and holistic approach, Arup supported the seamless integration of major alterations to public areas and the Linbury Theatre.
