How can we systematically reduce carbon emissions in cities and thus effectively counteract climate change? This question is the focus of our breakfast event "Decarbonising our Cities" on March 5, 2020 at 8.30 a.m. in our Frankfurt office.

Rudi Scheuermann, Arup Fellow and Business Leader for Cities, is a passionate supporter of sustainable building development. In his lecture he will present resource-saving and energy-efficient building solutions, which through their diverse approaches, have a positive influence on the climate of the city. Rudi will also describe how innovative digital tools that sustainably reduce the carbon balance of existing and new buildings can be used.

Prof. Peter Head, founder and CEO of the Ecological Sequestration Trusts, develops economic measures to increase the resilience of cities and regions. For his work he was named one of the "30 eco-heroes of our time” by Time magazine and one of "50 people who can help save the planet" by The Guardian newspaper. In his presentation he will explain how the Green Deal can be successfully implemented in Europe. (Lecture in English)
