- Honorable Mention, Architectural Design/Transportation by The Architecture MasterPrize 2022
Located in the heart of Hong Kong, the Admiralty Station extension connects four existing railway lines, becoming the largest interchange station in the MTR network. Arup was engaged as the lead consultant for this exceptionally complex and challenging project, and our scope covered railway engineering and project management, architectural and station planning, civil, structural, geotechnical, building services, traffic, fire engineering and other specialist services.
Our design realised a stunning skylight above the 30m tall atrium, which not only draws natural light from the street level to the underground space, but also creates the main spine for passengers moving between the various lines and to the hinterlands.
Hong Kong Design Awards recognise innovative and outstanding designs and are organised by representatives from the global community of renowned design brands and studios. The Muse Design Awards are selected by the leaders of a diverse range of marketing and advertising companies from around the world, which aim to set a new trend in design excellence by recognising creative and inspiring design. The Architecture MasterPrize is one of the most authoritative world-class architectural awards, which sets a new benchmark for the global architectural and design industry.
