Arup has been selected as a Prime supplier on the Department for Transport (DfT) STARThree Framework, the overall value of which is £600 million.
STARThree (officially known as the Specialist Technical and Commercial Advisory for Rail and Other Transport Systems Framework) looks to support the delivery of rail, road and aviation projects. Arup will provide specialist consultancy advice to support the aims of the DfT as it delivers infrastructure projects across all these modes.
Arup will deliver services supporting the DfT in areas from train operator contracting, economic analysis, through fares and ticketing, to major infrastructure project development.
The multi-year framework comprises two Lots, with Arup the only supplier appointed to both. Arup will work closely with its direct supply chain on Lot 1 and Lot 2 comprising: Accent, Crosstech, Fieldsend Consultants, Gardiner & Theobald, Oxera, Rail Aspects, Rebel, The Human Chain, University of Southampton and VA Rail.
The appointment also gives Arup the opportunity to collaborate with fellow Prime suppliers on Lot 1 including Costain, Jacobs, Mace, Mott MacDonald and Steer.
Supporting the DfT’s ambition for 40% of contributions to the Framework to be delivered by Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Arup will collaborate with companies in the Medium and Expert tiers alongside SMEs in its own supply chain. In particular, Arup seeks to open further opportunities for smaller companies.
The STARThree appointment continues Arup’s strong track record of working with the DfT.
