Arup is pleased to announce the appointment of Jean-Marie Aubé as the new Healthcare Business Leader for Canada. Arup shapes healthcare environments and processes which promote healing, efficiency, and resilience.
Based in Montreal, Jean-Marie will focus on generating new opportunities in the healthcare sector across Canada, growing Arup’s strong local team, and enabling it to become even more specialized in delivering for this sector.

In Canada, Arup’s work on Calgary’s new Arthur J.E. Child Comprehensive Cancer Centre includes Arup specialists in hospital and medical research facility design, logistics, digital, and owners-side management of design/build projects from Montreal, Toronto, Calgary, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and London, England. Arup is structured to be highly effective across disciplines and across borders to deliver sustainable outcomes that improve both the caregiver and patient experience. The firm’s global team of designers, planners, engineers, consultants, and technical specialists are highly experienced in planning and implementing world-class healthcare facilities and supporting high quality healthcare operations by aligning people, processes, and assets.

With over 40 years of experience in MEP engineering and project management, Jean-Marie specializes in institutional projects ranging from hospital and health care facilities, higher educational centres, to food and beverage installations across Canada, and in the US. He also delivered multidisciplinary commercial and industrial projects in the Arctic, Asia, North Africa, and the Caribbean.
Jean-Marie joins Arup from GHD, where he was technical director of the Eastern Canada engineering design centre. Prior to GHD, Jean-Marie was director of major projects at WSP Canada for ten years. This was after integrating his own engineering firm into WSP. At Aubé-Gareau Engineers & Consultants he led the development and operations for 25 years.
