Global sustainable development consultancy Arup has today announced the appointment of Paula Walsh as its new UK, India, Middle East and Africa (UKIMEA) Chair, effective 1 April 2024.
Paula will oversee a 7,000 strong team which delivers advisory, planning, engineering, and design services across a wide range of markets including energy, property, and transport.
Paula joined Arup as a structural engineering graduate in 1989 and has held several leadership positions within the firm including Property, Science and Industry Group and Team Leader, Regional Commercial Business Leader and Regional and Global Property Business Leader. Paula is currently the London and South-East Geography Leader and a UKIMEA Board member.
With extensive experience in design across a wide range of sectors, Paula works with local, national, and international clients and their collaborators to deliver high impact and quality outcomes that push the boundaries on social value, sustainability and inclusivity.
Paula takes on the new role from current Chair for the UK, India, Middle East and Africa Jerome Frost OBE, who succeeds Dr Alan Belfield as the next Chair of Arup Group from 1 April 2024.
