Arup is proud to celebrate multiple wins at the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) Building Services Division Excellent Building Award 2026. The recognition highlights our contribution to a range of landmark projects across Hong Kong, advancing sustainability, innovation and excellence in the built environment.
Kai Tak Sports Park
Grand Award (New Building)
Special Awards: Social Impact Distinction Award, Governance Leadership Award, Project Efficacy Endeavor Award and Excellent Construction Laureate Award
As part of the consortium led by Kai Tak Sports Park Limited and Hip Hing Engineering Co. Limited, Arup provided multidisciplinary services to realise KTSP, a 28-hectare integrated sports, leisure and entertainment landmark on the former Kai Tak Airport site.
At the heart of the precinct, the 50,000-seat Kai Tak Stadium is defined by one of the world's largest acoustically sealed retractable roofs, spanning 14,200m² and weighing 4,800 tonnes, yet opening or closing in just 30 minutes. Complementing this engineering feat, an innovative Bowl Seat Cooling and Pitch Cooling system delivers targeted comfort across every seat and the field of play, achieving exceptional spectator experience with remarkable energy savings.
Beyond the stadium, the precinct also encompasses the Kai Tak Arena, an indoor venue seating up to 10,000, and the Kai Tak Youth Sports Ground, an outdoor facility with 5,000 seats, together with extensive open spaces, retail and harbourfront dining.
Kai Tak District Cooling System (DCS) Plant No. 3
Grand Award (New Building)
Kai Tak District Cooling System Plant No. 3 (KTDCS-P3) was honoured with the Grand Award in the New Building category. Serving as Project Manager, Arup led the successful delivery of Hong Kong's largest and most advanced district cooling facility, transforming a complex infrastructure project into a flagship low-carbon asset supporting the Kai Tak Development.
The New CLP Headquarters Building
Grand Award (New Building)
Located in Kai Tak, the New CLP Headquarters Building is a next-generation, low-carbon workplace with a gross floor area of around 17,000 m² across 11 storeys and one basement floor, and 105 car park spaces all equipped with EV charging. Arup played a key role in delivering the project, providing structural, mechanical, electrical, public health engineering and sustainability design. The building integrates advanced building systems, smart energy management and human-centric design to deliver exceptional sustainability, efficiency and resilience. It is among the very few buildings in Hong Kong to have achieved Platinum ratings under LEED, BEAM Plus and WELL, setting a new benchmark for future-ready corporate facilities.
Lee Garden Eight
Excellent Design Framework Award
Set to be a new landmark in Causeway Bay, Lee Garden Eight delivers three Grade A office towers, retail space, and lush public realm. Arup provided structural, geotechnical, civil, sustainability, ICT, and AAVT design, enabling a five-storey basement on a heritage-sensitive site, and shaping a scheme targeting LEED, BEAM Plus and WELL Platinum, and CGBL 3-Star ratings, as well as delivering Hong Kong Island's largest commercial EV charging hub.
State Pavilia
Excellent Design Framework Award
A landmark heritage mixed-use development at 283 King's Road, North Point, State Pavilia by New World Development revitalises the Grade I historic State Theatre into a mixed-use development with a 388-home residential tower, 26-floor office tower and new retail podium on the historic State Theatre site.
