Arup has been recognised with three awards in the EOC’s Racial Diversity & Inclusion Employers Award Scheme, including the Gold Award for Racial Equity in Hiring, Silver Award for Inclusive Workplace, and Silver Award for Community Engagement. These awards reflect our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive and equitable workplace.

The scheme celebrate organisations that demonstrate excellence in promoting racial diversity, equity, and inclusion through strategic, proactive, innovative, sustainable, and impactful initiatives. Our multi-faceted approach encompasses fair recruitment practices, employee engagement, and community-based programmes aimed at enhancing racial inclusion both within the organisation and across the broader Hong Kong community.

In our Hong Kong office, we promote an inclusive workplace through initiatives such as a staff-designed prayer room, cultural food-sharing events, and participation in racial D&I job fairs, fostering a sense of belonging. Over the past five years, we have partnered with the Zubin Foundation to support over 12,000 ethnic minority individuals, including pro-bono design of the Zubin Centre and mentoring youth through the WeDesign Programme. These efforts underscore Arup’s strategic and innovative commitment to racial diversity and inclusion, aligning business excellence with social responsibility.

Our commitment to diversity and inclusion is more than a policy – it is embedded in how we work, collaborate, and contribute to society. From ensuring equitable recruitment practices to creating inclusive spaces for our staff and supporting ethnic minority communities through volunteer and mentorship programmes, we strive to make a meaningful impact both within and beyond our firm.
