The global shift towards sustainable energy is reshaping cities, demanding innovative solutions that integrate technology, planning, and infrastructure. Themed ‘Empowering the future: Energy transition and urban development’, this year’s competition calls for interdisciplinary research that explores how cities can balance environmental, economic, and social needs during their energy transitions.
Participants are encouraged to submit proposals on a wide range of topics, including but not limited to renewable energy integration, low-carbon mobility, smart grids, and cross-sector collaboration.
The competition is open to research postgraduates based at universities and research institutes in Hong Kong, Japan, Macau, Mainland China, South Korea, and Taiwan.
