Arup has been officially recognised as an External Reviewer under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) Green and Sustainable Finance Grant Scheme. With this recognition, Arup becomes the only built environment consulting firm listed among the approved External Reviewers, marking a significant milestone in our continued efforts in green and sustainable finance.

This achievement reinforces Arup’s expanding role in supporting the integrity, transparency, and technical robustness of sustainable finance markets across Asia and globally. It follows our earlier recognition as the first engineering consulting firm certified by the Climate Bonds Initiative (CBI) to verify green bonds – an important validation of the firm’s global expertise in sustainable finance.

Over the years, we have delivered multiple external reviews for green and sustainable debt instruments across various jurisdictions. Our Hong Kong team played a leading role in managing and delivering these engagements, including technical assessments of green and sustainable project portfolios, ESG due diligence and verification and alignment checks against international frameworks. Our work has supported issuers, lenders, and investors in ensuring that sustainable finance instruments are credible, science-based, and aligned with market expectations.

We will continue working with our partners to uphold and advance best-practice standards in sustainable finance.

As global demand for green and sustainable financing accelerates, confidence in the integrity of these instruments becomes more critical than ever. HKMA’s recognition affirms Arup’s capability and commitment to supporting the transition to a climate-resilient, sustainable, low-carbon economy.
