Arup has appointed three new members to its Australasia Region Board, expanding the diversity of skills and perspectives of its leadership team.
The appointments of Mayurie Gunatilaka, New Zealand Geography Leader, along with Fazidin Faisal, and Robert Saidman, Group Leaders in Malaysia and NSW/ACT respectively, are effective from 1st April 2023.
Co-Chairs, Kate West and Kerryn Coker welcomed the trio to the Region Board.
“Mayurie, Fazidin and Robert are highly respected leaders in their fields. They bring a wealth of technical expertise and experience in leading diverse teams, delivering complex infrastructure projects and shaping sustainable cities,” said the Co-Chairs.
“As society grapples with climate, biodiversity and social equity crises, the three leaders are well placed to complement our existing Board in supporting our 3,000 strong region workforce of designers, advisors, and experts to unlock practical solutions that help our clients achieve their sustainable development goals.”
Leading our New Zealand business, Mayurie has spent over 23 years in infrastructure and urban planning. Her engaging and transformational approach to leadership has been a key force in driving growth for Arup in New Zealand.
An engaging leader with strong networks throughout the fast-evolving Southeast Asia market, Fazidin leads Arup’s Buildings and Technical Specialists team in Malaysia.
Based in NSW/ACT, Robert leads our Structures and Building Services Teams pioneering net zero pathways and driving decarbonisation through the built environment value chain. His passion for creating a humane, diverse and inclusive environment reflects Arup values.
“As Chairs to our Region Board, we look forward to guiding our region towards continued success as we accelerate our sustainable development agenda and collaborate with our clients and partners to shape a better world,” added the Co-Chairs.
