Global engineering and built environment consultancy Arup will support a new joint venture, Programme Delivery Partner (PDP), which has been commissioned by Anglian Water to support on the delivery of its capital investment programmes, reservoir programmes and major infrastructure projects over the next 15 years.
Marking the start of Anglian Water’s most ambitious business plan to date, the Asset Management Period 8 (AMP8) is valued at £11bn and began in April, with plans stretching through to 2030.
Anglian Water recently announced the formation of an unincorporated joint venture comprising AtkinsRéalis, Mace and Turner & Townsend as its new Programme Delivery Partner. Arup will provide strategic support to this joint venture as part of the wider delivery ecosystem.
The £1bn agreement, which runs until the end of AMP10 in 2040, will support Anglian Water’s investment programme, including major projects such as two new reservoirs in the Fens and Lincolnshire.
As a strategic partner, Arup will provide specialist input where required, including support for major project execution and development consent processes. The firm will also contribute best practices in land management, construction planning and stakeholder engagement, helping to ensure effective delivery across the investment and reservoir programmes.
Fredrick Mukonoweshuro, Arup PDP Delivery Director, said: “Arup is pleased to be supporting Anglian Water’s Programme Delivery Partnership. We look forward to contributing our expertise to help deliver long-term value for customers, communities and the environment.”
The PDP represents one of the largest contracts of its kind in the water sector. Arup’s role will be to work collaboratively with the joint venture to help realise the goals of this significant investment programme.
