Arup has signed a partnership with Geared Up Culcha (GUC) which will supply the firm with safety gear, workwear and branded merchandise in Australia.

Established in 2013, GUC is proudly Indigenous owned and operated. The company is Supply Nation Certified and boasts a 30 per cent Indigenous workforce.

The partnership brings to life Arup’s Indigenous Procurement Strategy, which sees the firm actively including majority-owned Indigenous businesses in the supply chain.

Liam O’Donohue, Arup’s Managing Principal, Australia and New Zealand said: “We’re excited to be partnering with Geared Up Culcha to supply our workwear and PPE. Using our purchasing power to support First Nations owned businesses aligns strongly with the values of our firm, and our commitment to standing with First Nations people.”

Paul Dodd, founder and executive director of GUC, a proud Bundjalung man said: “Geared Up Culcha is excited to be working alongside Arup, an organisation that supports Indigenous enterprise and aligns with our core values. As a First Nations business, we are always cognisant of the environmental and social footprint we leave on Country, it governs the decisions we make and how we operate as a business. We look forward to partnering with Arup on their journey to design and create a sustainable future through the built environment.”

In addition to facilitating the growth of Indigenous businesses, the partnership will benefit Arup with more flexibility in the design of workwear and safety gear through on-site designing capability.
