At the inaugural CIBSE 30 Under 30 Awards, Jill Leung, our Engineer in Climate and Sustainability Services, has been named one of the six Sustainable Champions of the year.  

This prestigious global award, organised by the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) Young Engineer Network, recognises young professionals who are redefining the future of the industry through innovation, leadership and commitment to sustainability.

It’s a great honour to be recognised by CIBSE. It’s truly meaningful to be featured among such an inspiring group of changemakers. This recognition further fuels my dedication to advancing sustainability and innovation in our industry.

Engineer in Climate and Sustainability Services

Since joining Arup in 2018, Jill has been at the forefront of integrating digital technologies to deliver innovative climate mitigation and adaptation solutions across the entire building lifecycle. Her expertise has been instrumental in the development and application of smart tools including the MTR Carbon Digital Platform and CONDUCTOR, helping clients to identify significant decarbonisation opportunities. 

Her work spans a diverse portfolio, from leading energy enhancement work in existing buildings such as the ELEMENTS and TKO Plaza, to designing smart and sustainable outcomes for new developments like Two Taikoo Place. She also supports major corporations in setting holistic, science-based net-zero targets and climate strategies to strengthen long term climate resilience.

This accolade adds to a list of achievements for Jill. She was awarded the Best Woman Inventor at the International Invention Innovation Competition in Canada in 2022, and received a Merit award at the IET Hong Kong Young Woman Engineer of the Year Award in 2024
