Karen Lai honoured at Hong Kong’s NextGen Logistician Awards 2025

Karen joined Arup as a graduate engineer in 2010 and has since built a remarkable career delivering complex logistics solutions for major infrastructure projects spanning aviation, healthcare, and transportation. With experience that bridges consulting, client-side leadership, and supplier implementation, Karen is recognised for her ability to translate strategic vision into practical, scalable outcomes that enhance the operational efficiency across the city.

Her work has been instrumental in redefining logistics for Hong Kong’s most critical facilities, encompassing everything from high-speed baggage handling systems in airports, to the largest hospital automation initiatives that optimise material flows and service delivery. She also leveraged augmented reality for wayfinding in complex transport hubs. Karen consistently integrates advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency and set a precedent for creating automated and smart logistics infrastructure. These innovative solutions help in providing seamless movement of goods, people, and information, leading to a more pleasant experience for our citizens.
