Macau Light Rapid Transit (LRT) Seac Pai Van (SPV) Line has been honoured with three awards. These prestigious honours highlight the project’s significance and its unique features that set a new standard for sustainable urban mobility in Macau.

The honours are:

  • Gold winner in the Architectural design ‒ transportation category, 2025 MUSE Design Awards
  • Silver winner in the Commercial architecture category - transportation hubs (airports, train stations), 2025 NY Design Awards
  • Gold award in the Architecture - public and institutional category, Hong Kong Design Awards 2025

Spanning a 1.6km elevated viaduct, the new line features two strategically located stations – Union Hospital Station and Seac Pai Van Station. The Union Hospital Station seamlessly connects to the existing LRT Taipa Line, enhancing the green transportation network and improving connectivity for residents and visitors alike.

The innovative, human-centric station design principles serve as the backbone that transforms LRT transportation system. The station skylights, strategically placed to harvest natural light, enhance spatial quality and facilitate passenger wayfinding. This design not only promotes a sense of safety and comfort but also significantly reduces energy consumption by maximising natural light and ventilation. The façades celebrate traditional Portuguese Azulejo tile artwork, creating a unique and elegant design that harmonises with the surrounding environment.

SPV Line’s modular design approach ensured high precision and reduced waste, contributing to the project’s overall sustainability. By prioritising both aesthetic and practical functionality, the project exemplifies our commitment to passenger comfort and wellness, setting a new benchmark for public transport in Macau.
