Arup appointed for Tsing Lung Bridge design and construction consultancy

Arup will deliver the reference design and tender documents including the Employer's Requirements, provide tender support, and carry out site supervision and contract administration throughout the Design and Build (D&B) contracts.

Arup, in joint venture with Mott MacDonald, has been commissioned by the Highways Department of the Hong Kong SAR Government to deliver design and construction consultancy services for Tsing Lung Bridge, a landmark project set to shape the city's future connectivity, sustainability and economic resilience.

The bridge is a critical component of Route 11, the new strategic corridor linking the Northwest New Territories and North Lantau.

Tsing Lung Bridge: a new landmark for Hong Kong

Located at the southern end of Route 11, Tsing Lung Bridge will be Hong Kong's first dual four-lane sea-crossing. With a main span of approximately 1.3 kilometres, it will feature a distinctive aesthetic design with H-shaped towers and K-shaped cross-beams forming the letters "HK", which is set to become a new icon that bolsters the city's bridge tourism appeal.

Once complete, the bridge will divert traffic from Tuen Mun Road (Sham Tseng section) and Ting Kau Bridge, easing congestion and strengthening the resilience of the wider road network for generations to come.
