Doha is the capital city and economic centre of the State of Qatar. Driven mainly by oil and gas revenues, the ambitious Gulf state has an impressive track record of economic growth. The Qatari government’s determination to diversify its economy has resulted in a construction boom and rapid modernisation.

Arup has been working in the Middle East since the early 1970s. We work with major multinational and governmental clients, alongside some of the world's most renowned architects, to deliver creative and high value technical solutions.

Our Qatar office has been involved in several high-profile projects including Qatar University, which is one of our flagship projects in the region, the iconic Aspire Tower, Khalifa National Stadium and several buildings at Education City.

Recent work includes the distinctive ‘Showcase’ for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, a model stadium that was a major drive in Qatar’s sustainability plan, master planning services for Msheireb Downtown Doha and various other infrastructure opportunities. We are part of the consortium working to create an integrated master plan for the 2022 FIFA World Cup, Qatar™.
