The nation’s capital as well as the anchor of its fourth-largest metropolitan region, the Washington DC area is home to more than eight million people. Arup’s work in the region spans more than 30 years, including projects such as the US Air Force Memorial, US Coast Guard Headquarters, The Chrysalis, Dulles International Airport expansion, and John F. Kennedy Center for the Arts expansion.

We formally established a local office in 2010, and now provide structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing and civil engineering; IT and communications consulting; fire and life-safety engineering and code consulting; and acoustic consulting. In addition to commercial projects, cultural facilities, prominent government buildings, and transportation projects, we work on master plans, feasibility studies, sustainability implementation plans, renovations, and more.

Our DC office also leads projects in other locations and throughout the world in order to support our client’s needs.
