8 ChifleyOur first collaboration with Richard Rogers architects in Australia – one of Sydney’s greenest buildings.

Arup came to Australia in 1963 to undertake the structural design of the Sydney Opera House and we now work from seven offices across four key areas of influence: cities, connectivity, health, resources. Our desire to shape a better world ensures our clients receive smart design ideas with a social purpose, which will have a positive influence for current and future generations. We recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture and history of our region, and Arup's Indigenous Employment Strategy articulates our actions to broaden employment opportunities for Indigenous Australians into, and within, the firm.

Our Perth office was officially opened in 1969 and has been active in Western Australia ever since. Having helped shaped the State for over 45 years’, Arup continues to influence the built environment by designing projects with the future in mind.

Arup has helped to significantly shape Perth both above ground and below, designing numerous buildings and supporting infrastructure. We undertake projects of all types and sizes – from feasibility reports and specialist studies through to detailed design and large scale capital works programs. We also provide a range of services to deliver innovative planning, infrastructure, building, resources and energy solutions.

Our work is best characterised by our involvement in iconic Western Australian projects. These range from high profile attractions like the Bell Tower, Crown Perth, the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre, the Raffles waterfront development, through to the award winning Harry Perkins Institute of Medical Research and the Mitchell Freeway Widening. Our major energy sector works include the Gorgon LNG project and the Wandoo B offshore oil platform.

Currently we are working on a number of high profile projects including the new Perth Stadium, the Elizabeth Quay Pedestrian Bridge, Perth Airport Expansion, the Victoria Park Drive modifications in Burswood, along with ongoing work in the resources and energy sectors.

In Perth, Arup has developed a reputation for delivering high quality projects on time and within budget. Bringing together broad-minded individuals across a range of disciplines, we consider the big picture, think creatively and provide comprehensive solutions that will add value to our clients’ projects and for the communities in which we live and work.
