We opened our Nairobi office in 2012 as a platform for working across East Africa. Our team in Nairobi enables us to deliver a diverse range services, combining our local knowledge and contextual understanding with our global expertise. We deliver design and advisory services related to sustainable infrastructure, transport planning, specialist building designs and urban transformation. Current projects include advisory work for Nairobi Railway City, an opportunities assessment for nature based solutions in Tanzania and development of a Global Assessment Framework for specific industrial sectors relevant to the region. Our projects embed Arup’s commitment to sustainable development and climate action as we seek to support the rapid growth of the built environment in Africa.
Through our Nairobi office we are supporting two of the 2021 Earthshot prize finalists in the projects in the region. We are developing a masterplan and concept infrastructure plan for POPOF and supporting Sanergy in the scaling of their solutions to treat human waste.
