Arup has played key roles in delivering some of the most successful landmark property projects in Mauritius. We are currently involved in many of the ‘smart city’ mixed developments across the island, notably at Moka Smart City and Beau Plan Smart City. Our acoustics team brought world class expertise in theatre design to the new Caudan Art Centre.

We have extensive experience in the delivery of new and refurbished hotels, working with clients to develop resorts for tourism and local employment while mitigating the impact on the island’s ecosystems. We have expertise in beach protection and recharge schemes to combat the effect of changing lagoonar conditions at Bel Ombre, Sands Hotel and the One and Only Le Saint Geran.

The 110 staff based in our Bagatelle office act as a ‘hub’ for delivering infrastructure, masterplanning and building projects across Africa. Through close collaboration with Arup’s international network, we can apply a wide range of technical skills to African projects including transport planning, renewable energy and integrated water management. Some of the recent masterplanning projects our team has been engaged with include Green Heart of Kenya, Kilifi Eco-Industrial Park, Kenya and the Tshwane Pyramid Agri Hub, South Africa.
