Istanbul straddles the Bosphorus Strait, with a foot in Asia and another in Europe. Due to its location as an international junction of land and sea trade routes, Istanbul has always been the centre of Turkey’s economic life.
Arup in Istanbul designed, project-managed and supervised hundreds of multidisciplinary building projects, including the Kanyon Complex, Koç University, Quasar Istanbul, Çiftçi Towers, Toyota Manufacturing Plant, Mandarin Oriental Bodrum and Soyak Kristal Kule.
Arup also made contributions to the city with important infrastructure projects within the framework of the Istanbul Metropolitan Area Integrated Urban Transportation Plan such as Marmaray, Eurasia Tunnel, Sabiha Gökçen International Airport, Aircraft Heavy Maintenance Facility (HABOM) and Istanbul M5 Metro Line and extensions.
