London Olympic Aquatic Centre – With its distinctive architecture and focus on legacy use, the Aquatics Centre was designed to be sustainable.

Arup was founded by Ove Arup in 1946. Our work addresses every aspect of the built environment, from initial planning and advisory services, through building design and structural engineering. We are a community of collaborators, bringing together over 90 disciplines to help realise our clients’ commercial goals. In the UK we’re at the forefront of developing new transport systems like Crossrail or Heathrow Terminal 5, producing inspiring workplaces like Whitecollar Factory, and helping cities prepare for climate change. From sound investment decisions to innovative bridge designs, clients come to Arup for our creativity and technical excellence.

Glasgow

Founded in 1968, our Glasgow office is today home to more than 150 engineers, planners, digital experts and specialist technical advisors focused on areas ranging from rail infrastructure and data centres to environmental planning and fire engineering.

Arup is a major collaborator in regenerating the city of Glasgow and is involved in many of the key initiatives that lie at the heart of the Scottish economy. We plan and engineer many of Glasgow’s most important buildings and infrastructure projects as well as developing strategies and policies such as Glasgow’s first city-wide resilience strategy. We work in partnership with Scottish Government, NGOs and significant public and private sector players.

Our people in Glasgow work on local, national and international projects, including harbour redevelopments, higher education facilities and highways design that meets 21st century needs.
