Arup’s business in Winchester began over thirty years ago with a specialist focus on acoustic consultancy services and theatre consulting. Today, the work of our engineers, planners and specialist technical advisors in Winchester encompasses areas as diverse as building engineering, urban design, flood risk mitigation and economic planning.

Our people in Winchester help to guide the development of towns, cities and countryside in the region – from creating a shape for future development in Winchester city centre, to taking a major housing scheme at Uplands Farm in Hampshire through a comprehensive planning application. Our work at the heart of our local communities has included supporting local young people to design, plan and deliver Handlebar Café, a sustainable cycle café, alongside the SPUD arts and education charity.

Our multi-disciplinary teams design academic, sports and student accommodation buildings for universities across the south coast, as well as specialist sports buildings including the award-winning Places Leisure Eastleigh community sports centre, Southampton Solent Sports Centre and new facilities for Winchester City, Winchester College and at the Carnival Complex in Wokingham.
