Aidan Madden is a a Structural Engineer and an Associate Director in the Buildings team at Arup. He has over 20 years of experience, having lived and worked in Ireland, Australia, UAE and Portugal, with additional projects located in the UK, Bangladesh, India, Vietnam, Malawi, Malaysia, Uganda and Korea.

With extensive experience in large scale technically-led multidisciplinary programmes, Aidan specialises in the area of assessment and remediation of existing buildings. He also has broad experience in the university sector, especially science and research facilities. In addition, he has been involved in numerous masterplanning, commercial office developments and refurbishment projects. He has a developing interest in tall buildings and in the integration of design across large multi-centred teams.

In 2017, Aidan was awarded International Engineer of the Year by Engineers Ireland for his work in the garment industry in Bangladesh, following the Rana Plaza factory collapse.
