Aleksandar Bajovic leads the Highways Business and Advisory Cluster at Arup in Serbia and heads Arup Belgrade office.

Having worked closely with International Funding Institutions (IFIs), including the World Bank, European Investment Bank (EIB) and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Redevelopment (EBRD), on multiple projects, he has a profound expertise in the IFI and EU legislation and requirements.

As a civil and environmental engineer with over 20 years of experience, Aleksandar has been involved as a project manager in a wide range of multidisciplinary projects across Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and the UK. Currently, he focusses on the social, environmental and safety aspects of Highways development.

From project inception to preparation of contract documents on construction, including feasibility studies and economic evaluations, Aleksandar has a broad understanding of local engineering and construction standards, law, regulations, and permitting/approval processes.
