Bruce is responsible for the success of the aviation, energy, environmental, highways, maritime, rail, sustainability, water and waste businesses across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. He collaborates with partners and clients on major projects, bringing the best of Arup to create exceptional outcomes.

During his career, which spans more than 30 years with Arup, Bruce has gained extensive knowledge of major infrastructure projects and leading large multidisciplinary design teams on complex projects. This includes significant roles on planning and design for many projects including transport, rail, highways, aviation and site development.

His strong technical background is based on his direct design experience in all aspects of infrastructure works. Bruce works with clients to select the most appropriate procurement model for their project, considering risk distribution and key behavioural drivers of contracted parties as critical in delivering the best possible outcomes. 

Bruce also believes in creating successful, collaborative project teams involving all parties – and encouraging smart thinking and technical innovation – to drive outstanding team performance.

He has held leadership positions on many major project boards and steering committees including Brisbane Airport Link and Northern Busway, the Transport Network Reconstruction Program, the SAFElink Alliance and currently Brisbane Metro. He also is a member of the Australasia Region Board and the Australasian Management Executive.
