Charles Ormsby

Associate, Canadian Climate and Sustainability Services Leader

Charles Ormsby is an Associate and the Canadian Climate and Sustainability Services Leader, based in Arup’s Montréal office. With over 15 years of experience, he is an expert in sustainability design for infrastructure and development projects of various scales using a selection of accreditation tools such as LEED, Envision, and Sites, and fosters true design integration within multi-disciplinary teams. 

Charles delivers engineering solutions that sensitively align with the project-specific social, cultural, heritage, architectural, and environmental considerations. His experience includes the development of sustainable water management strategies for cities and masterplans, decarbonization plans for neighborhoods and infrastructure operations, resilience planning for buildings and communities, and inclusive public realm design for sites of national importance in countries across the world. Notable projects include the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Centre in Athens, Greece; the VIA Ottawa Station accessibility improvements project in Ottawa, Canada; and the Samuel De Champlain bridge in Montréal.
